Fellowship Program — Application Information

Eligibility

To be eligible to apply for the Endocrinology Subspecialty Fellowship Program, applicants must meet one of the following:

  1. Royal College Eligible: these positions are allotted through the Canadian Residency Matching Service (CaRMS). This path is restricted to residents of Canada, who meet all the requirements for Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada certification in Internal Medicine and are seeking subspecialty training to become eligible for Royal College certification in Endocrinology and Metabolism. Eligible applicants include:

  1. CaRMS-eligible residents in good standing, currently in their 3rd year of training in a Royal College certified Internal Medicine Education Program within Canada.

  1. CaRMS-eligible physicians already certified in Internal Medicine by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada who are seeking additional training to become eligible for Royal College certification in Endocrinology and Metabolism.

Note: Funding of these positions is very limited and is only available through the second iteration of the CaRMS match.

  1. Non-Royal College Eligible: a limited number of positions may be available for applicants who have completed their internal medicine training outside of Canada and would like to further their education and return to their home country after completion of training. Such positions are not eligible for Royal College certification. Applicants must meet all of the criteria for an educational license in British Columbia.

Note: These positions are extremely limited and internal funding is not available, so funding must be obtained from a recognized source, such as government funding from the applicant's home country. Only outstanding candidates will be considered.
